Cleaning Ceramic Tile Basics
The best and easiest way to clean your tile.
Tile is a wonderful addition to any home; it complements the color of your décor and increases the overall value of your property. Ceramic tile is manufactured to resist grime, dust and stains but if not cleaned correctly they will begin to dull. Keeping your investment protected is easier than you think. Some homeowners believe using the most expensive cleaning products will yield the best results but that is not always true. Use these tips to restore your tile to its glossy luster in minutes.
To begin you will need a sponge, clean rag, lukewarm water and baking soda. First, sprinkle the baking soda across the tile you wish to clean but be sure to do this one section at a time. Wet the sponge and clean the area using a circular motion for 2-3 minutes (you should see dirt away from the surface of the tile within a minute). After the tile is clean, polish and dry with a rag and repeat this process until the entire area is cleaned.
Bonus Tip: Place ¼ cup or more of vinegar to 1 gallon of water to increase its cleaning power. Vinegar removes most dirt without rigorous scrubbing and leaves minimal film.
